"You're still a rockstar" I whisper to myself as I take a multivitamin and crawl into bed at 9:45

My new motto

I was texting with my friend, Sue, yesterday about the race....getting up so early, the freezing cold, walking/running a total of 20 miles including the race, etc.
     Her response:
          This is what super-women do.
     (she's a good friend)

Rock and Roll Denver race weekend

5 K yesterday am, half marathon today. Up at 3 am to eat, walk dog, leave a little after 430 to drive to light rail, race starts at 7 downtown.  It is 32 degrees, so there will be a lot of standing and walking around freezing in the cold waiting for the start, then I'll probably be hot and overdressed while running once the sun is out.  Hope all the bands are great and motivate me.

I know not age, nor weariness nor defeat.    Rose Kennedy

Rose, I'm feeling all three this morning.

Update
A lot of work for a couple of t-shirts and some bling, but I'm done.

Let it be I

It only takes one person to make a change.

I'm with Eminem.  (Although I don't appreciate rap, I loved his powerful anti-Trump rap. Google it.)

I'm also drawing a line in the sand.

Indigenous People's Day....a day of remembrance

History of the Holiday

"Indigenous Peoples Day" reimagines Columbus Day and changes a celebration of colonialism into an opportunity to reveal historical truths about the genocide and oppression of indigenous peoples in the Americas, to organize against current injustices, and to celebrate indigenous resistance.
The idea of replacing Columbus Day with Indigenous Peoples Day was born in 1977, at a U.N.-sponsored conference in Geneva, Switzerland, on discrimination against indigenous populations in the Americas. Fourteen years later, activists in Berkeley, CA, convinced the Berkeley City Council to declare October 12 a "Day of Solidarity with Indigenous People." Henceforth, there has been a growing movement to appropriate "Columbus Day" as "Indigenous People's Day"; states such as South Dakota, Hawai’i, and Alaska have changed the holiday’s name and many more cities have taken similar action. “All the world's a stage and most of us are desperately unrehearsed.” ― Seán O'Casey

I am watching the Chicago Marathon stream live this morning. The elites are so amazing.
It is a gorgeous day....tomorrow snow and freezing temps arrive.

Just looked at the forecast....2-4 inches of snow tonight, 3-5 tomorrow with temps in the 20's. What?????
