Thanksgiving 2020
(ex update, jog 1 mile in AM, 3.1 miles on TM PM, ytd run 1419.5 miles. Walk dog 2 miles, ytd walk 658.2 miles. Run/walk total 2077.7 miles. Snow is on the way so I need to become friends with my treadmill again. I did buy some nanospikes for my shoes so I can more safely walk my dog in icy weather. As the saying goes, there's no such thing as bad weather, just unsuitable clothing. I keep telling myself that every year. Maybe someday I'll believe it...LOL)

If by a "Liberal" they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people-their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights and their civil liberties-someone who believes we can break through the stalemate and suspicions that grip us in our policies abroad, if that is what they mean by a "Liberal", then I'm proud to say I'm a "Liberal". - John F. Kennedy, Profiles in Courage

Run the Mile You're In....eventually the finish line will arrive.
In today's newletter The Morning Shakeout, Coach Mario Fraioli talks about how this pandemic is like running a marathon.
I know: It’s hard to hang in there when everything hurts and you just want the damn thing to be done, but it’s more important than ever to run the mile you’re in, so to speak, control what you can control, make good decisions, respect the people around you, and remind yourself that, eventually, the finish line will arrive.
“Persist, pivot, or concede. It’s up to us, our choice every time.”
—Matthew McConaughey, Greenlights

Happy Diwali
Diwali is a festival of lights mainly celebrated by Hindus. The festival usually lasts five days and celebrated during the Hindu Lunisolar month Kartika (between mid-October and mid-November). One of the most popular festivals of Hinduism, Diwali symbolizes the spiritual "victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance"
How wonderful is that!

Searching for peace of mind
As much as possible, I have been attempting a media blackout since Monday. It is so hard to fathom half of this nation supporting a sociopath. I am so disappointed in them and am embarrassed by America. The American flag is now a white supremacist flag.

Maya Angelou
“If you’re not angry, you’re either a stone, or you’re too sick to be angry. You should be angry. You must not be bitter. Bitterness is like cancer. It eats upon the host. It doesn’t do anything to the object of its displeasure. So use that anger, yes. You write it. You paint it. You dance it. You march it. You vote it. You do everything about it. You talk it. Never stop talking it.”
