“Many a trip continues long after movement in time and space have ceased” ― John Steinbeck
My Mom would have been 91 years old this week. I was in my hometown this past weekend visiting my Dad for Father's Day.
Sometimes I have the strange sensation that I am experiencing things through their eyes. Their trip continues.

Happy summer
It is officially summer. I attended a small town baseball game last night for 13-14 year olds. It was a beautiful evening, peaceful, cool, no bugs. America's pastime is alive and well in small town America. As I sat there eating popcorn and closely following the game, I felt like I was channeling my Mom. She would have been there doing that had she still been alive.
(ex. updates, got short runs/walks in every day in my hometown. ytd walk 423.7 miles, ytd run 681.7 miles. also 20 hours of driving over the long weekend)

“Be excellent to each other.” From: Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure
I've never seen the movie, but I love the quote.
Also, there's a vlogger I follow, Seth James DeMoor, who's motto is "seek beauty, work hard, and love each other." It's similarly great so I bought the shirt.

“Take a primitive organism, say a freshman. Make it lift, or jump or run. Let it rest. What happens? A little miracle. It gets a little better. It gets a little stronger or faster or more enduring. That’s all training is. Stress. Recover. Improve. You’d think any damn fool could do it. But you don’t. You work too hard and rest too little and get hurt.” —Coach Bill Bowerman in Bowerman and the Men of Oregon
I'm a primitive organism, and last week was a rest week. I'm still waiting for the little miracle!
