A commonplace book is, therefore, essential for writers as it is a permanent bank of inspiration. If you keep a handwritten one, you've taken the effort to seek out the quote, idea or passage, write it out by hand and then refer back to it — so chances are, something resonated with you.
I like the thought of that.....a permanent bank of inspiration....a time-capsule.
