We went to the Wild Animal Sanctuary in Keenesburg, CO today. It was a sunny, hot afternoon. Most of the 450 rescued animals were smart and were sleeping in the shade of their dens. The big cats that were out, lions, tigers, and panther, were all snoozing away. The bears were out and about, though. Next time, we'll arrive in the cool of the evening.
We were walking on walkways well above the animals so as not to stress them. I am afraid of heights so taking this picture of sleeping tigers while bending over the protective railing and not losing my hat or phone (or lunch) was a trick. You can see our shadow and the walkway shadow above the tigers.
