Update this morning on Courtney Dauwalter's FKT attempt on the Colorado Trail

WOW!

While most of us were sleeping Courtney Dauwalter was working her way through one of the toughest sections of the Collegiate West Route on the Colorado Trail. Now over 258 miles into her 490-mile, FKT attempt of the CT, Courtney is still going strong. She spent her fourth night mostly above 12,000 feet moving through rocky terrain that would be tough to get through fully rested with the sun out. She’s only slept about four hours in four days!
With 90,000 feet of elevation gain, the CT is the equivalent of climbing Mount Everest three times. Now just imagine doing that with only only a few hours of sleep in the dark. That’s what Courtney is doing right now. The 35-year-old is on course to set the record and is over halfway through her FKT attempt.

(my ex. update, run 8.2 mi long run on tm, ytd 965.75; walk dog 2.3 mi., ytd walked 378.2 mi,  smoky out with poor air quality from western Colorado wildfires.  I'm plugging along on my virtual Colorado Trail Challenge, nothing compared with Courtney Dauwalter but slow and steady wins my race)
